Start with the space above and below the basin. A pedestal or full-pedestal basin hides the waste and bottle trap and suits smaller bathrooms, while a counter-top or table-top basin needs a vanity or counter with enough depth and a matching waste. Measure the width you have available, then check the tap-hole configuration so the basin and mixer are ordered together.
Material and finish matter more in a wet room than anywhere else in the house. Vitreous china and ceramic basins hold their glaze, wipe clean and resist staining, and the finish should coordinate with the taps and accessories in the same bathroom. If you are matching an existing range, bring a photo or the model code to the showroom and our team will confirm what is still available.
